What profession would you take on if you weren’t a designer?
If I wasn’t a designer, I would probably have been involved with something to do with medicine. I seem to have contact with the human body. I would have learn to be a paramedic and work a bit, but still my great passion is in fashion.
What made you decide you wanted to be a designer?
I have always knew that I would be a fashion designer, since I was a little girl. I made clothes and jewelry even when I was a little girl – and I used to sell my designs to my mother’s friends. It is my passion, it’s burning in my bones -I do not want to do anything else. That’s what drives me.
What do you love most about fashion?
I love fashion design because it’s a profession that constantly changes and is renewed. It’s like playing with colors, materials and textures. It is like being an artist, but still connected to reality and human needs.
Who is your style icon?
I admire the designer Alber Elbaz – from the French fashion house Lanvin. I’m waiting all season to see the new trends that he brings; I think he’s the best designer at this time.
What’s the most inspiring place for you?
I love big fashion cities in Europe such as Paris. I always try to travel there once in a while, to visit, walk the streets, see beautiful young people, and be inspired by them.
Do you have a specific research process when you start designing new pieces?
Every season I am influenced by things that happen around me – like films, theater, art or dance. I start to collect materials and fabrics, and I watch in fashion shows of Haute Couture, and then create inspirations boards with the colors and silhouettes I love.
What’s on the radio when you’re working?
I use the radio site “JANGO”. I love to hear British indie music, it’s the music I grew up on.
What has been the highlight moment of your career so far?
The most exciting moment in my career recently, was that I discovered the online sales. Due to that, I got to meet and make connections with great boutiques around the world, and it is very exciting to know my clothes are worn by women from around the globe!
