Somewhere between a cocoon and a butterfly, or a cloud and an angel, Selene Giorgi’s exquisite one off creations flutter and float around the body, simultaneously covering and revealing through sheer layers of crushed pure silk organza.

Somewhere between a cocoon and a butterfly, or a cloud and an angel, Selene Giorgi’s exquisite one off creations flutter and float around the body, simultaneously covering and revealing through sheer layers of crushed pure silk organza. Extraordinary sculptural shapes are achieved through felting and the splicing together of tiny shreds of silk with trailing rows of tiny pearl edge seams. Giorgi’s work is ethereal and transcendent, clothing for the angels that walk amongst us, produced in limited edition, and exclusively in pure, natural fabrications.

Working from her studio store in Milan, Giorgi crafts a poetic collection with her avant-garde aesthetic expressed through dimension and texture, rather than color or pint. The collection is produced almost entirely in black and white from silk organza, silk taffeta, and cashmere, with hand felted details in wool and silk. Giorgi is an artist who uses clothing to express her art, using fabric, fiber and yarn to carve poetry in three dimensions.

The search for quality materials and processing of yarns and raw materials and crude blends the poetics of classical forms and triggers a complicity with the female body that is targeted every single job. Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Italy, Giorgi truly is a sculptor of cloth. The avant-garde design of the cuts closer to the Japanese masters, while the trademark praising the content delivered by a special skill. L'Atelier Selene Giorgi tells the unique story of unique pieces where the volumes and the force of ideas meet the study of the soul of those who want to try the unexpected fashion.
