Proving a commitment to innovation and technology, fabric mill Dormeuil has launched its first 3D feature online. The interactive generator allows designers to view Dormeuil's Spring/Summer 2015 collection as a complete suit - the finished result of one of many cloths produced by the centuries-old French house. With 173 years of manufacturing experience, Dormeuil has released 30 new textile designs - as it does each season. But now, clients are privileged to view the capsule collection on the mill's website via a 3D Generator. The online technology is a breakthrough for luxury cloth makers, especially those suppliers of London's Savile Row."To constantly be at the forefront of innovation, we have launched a precursor system on our website that allows you to have a 3D vision of our fabric collection, as close as possible to the reality of a finished garment," said Dominic Dormeuil, president of Dormeuil, in a statement online. The cutting edge technology chronicles Dormeuil's collection on a dimensional model. Users can dress the model in a suit, sports jacket and/or trouser combination, trialling the finished look of the cloth before they buy. After choosing the fabric - from a variety of weight, colors and patterns - the fabric specifications of the modeled suit is listed in the left corner on the screen. And it's the same for separates, with both the trouser and jacket cloth details itemized on the panel.Another feature is the easy rotation of the model once dressed - seeing the contours and form of the fabric on the human form. And the fabrics cloth be viewed from different distances via the zoom-in zoom-out capability. The 3D technology is the latest in a series of developments to take place at Dormeuil in the last decade.Dormeuil, which formed in 1842, launched its first ready-to-wear suiting collection - Dormeuil Mode - in the year 2000. Dormeuil unveiled the world’s most luxurious cloth in 2006. Dubbed 'Vanquish', the cloth was only available in 300 lengths and snapped up quickly by luxury tailors. The discovery of a new fiber in Kirghizstan was pioneered by Dormeuil in 2008, which lead to an exceptional innovative fabric - the Kirgyz White - being launched. It became known for its silky touch, cashmere softness and Mohair-esque luster - perfect for suits.Tapping into specialist yarns, Dormeuil then went on to launch 'Infinity' - a new vintage collection of the best fibres discovered by Dormeuil.Dormeuil is a featured supplier on Le Souk. The house specializes in the production of linen, pashmina, silk, cashmere, merino, mohair, cotton, and vicuna, offering customers elegant materials made from exotic fibers. Their fabrics are distributed across the globe, and are treasured by creatives for their quality construction, innovative designs, and comfortable elegance. Shop online here.
