The esteemed certification label, Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), has successfully met the stringent requirements set forth by the Green Button 2.0 certification scheme, underscoring its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and wet processes.

This significant achievement has been acknowledged by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), which extends gratitude to GOTS for its proactive engagement and valuable contributions throughout the Green Button 2.0 recognition process. The United Nations International Trade Centre (UN-ITC) also played a pivotal role in endorsing GOTS, enabling its utilization as a credible proof for both manufacturing and wet processes.

GOTS Empowers Affiliated Companies

Within the framework of Green Button 2.0, GOTS has now empowered approximately 60 affiliated companies with the ability to leverage its certification to meet the stringent meta-label requirements. This recognition represents a key milestone, ensuring that consumers navigating the textile market receive transparent and dependable guidance through independent, ambitious, and relevant certification labels.

As a recently accepted certification label under Green Button 2.0, GOTS significantly broadens its scope by encompassing certification for manufacturing and wet processes, complementing its existing recognition for fiber and material production. This extension reinforces GOTS' commitment to the holistic sustainability of textile processes, providing assurance to stakeholders and customers alike.

Shaping a Sustainable Future in B2B Textile Manufacturing

GOTS certification now spans across various fibers, including plant-based and animal fibers, as well as man-made fibers accounting for a proportion greater than 10% and less than 30% in the final product. This comprehensive coverage reflects GOTS' dedication to promoting environmentally friendly and socially responsible practices across the textile industry.

In conclusion, the recognition achieved by GOTS in the Green Button 2.0 Scheme signifies a significant step forward in the pursuit of sustainable and ethical textile manufacturing. By expanding its certification scope, GOTS is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping a more conscientious and eco-friendly future for the B2B textile industry.
