Everest Industries was listed on the "Corporate Carbon Reduction Thermometer" survey list recently released by CommonWealth Magazine, becoming one of the 220 companies in Taiwan that meet the 1.5°C temperature control target of the Paris Agreement, demonstrating Everest's specific achievements and actions in climate governance and net-zero transformation, adding another achievement to the carbon reduction model of the manufacturing industry.
The survey was jointly organized by CommonWealth Magazine and Tunghai University's Sustainability Association. More than 967 companies were evaluated, and only 220 companies achieved the 1.5°C target. Hongyuan performed well in the manufacturing category. With its publicly disclosed sustainability data and carbon reduction performance, it was actively included in the evaluation by the organizer, showing that the company's completeness, transparency and credibility in climate information disclosure are highly recognized.
Hongyuan has been committed to low-carbon transformation for a long time. Following the sustainable development policy of Far Eastern Group and referring to the "Taiwan 2050 Net Zero Emissions Pathway Blueprint" announced by the government, it has gradually planned and formulated its own carbon reduction path and practice strategy, set a mid-term goal of reducing carbon by at least 50% by 2030 with 2020 as the base year, and actively introduced renewable energy and smart energy management systems to move towards a green transformation path with low carbon and renewable energy in parallel. From the use of recycled fibers and single material design on the raw material side, to the continuous optimization of energy-saving and emission reduction technologies on the process side, to the development of functional green fabrics with low carbon footprints on the product side, it has gradually built a carbon reduction strategy covering the entire product life cycle, demonstrating a systematic and forward-looking climate action strength.
By continuously promoting energy-saving and carbon-reduction measures and optimizing processes, carbon emissions have been successfully reduced by approximately 22.58% in 2024 compared to the base year (2020), achieving the established reduction target. In the future, we will continue to move towards a more efficient and low-carbon operating model to achieve corporate sustainable development and carbon reduction commitments.
This selection further confirms the depth and breadth of Hongyuan's sustainable practices. Hongyuan has obtained many international environmental certifications such as GRS (Global Recycling Standard), bluesign®, OEKO-TEX®, and ISO 14064 greenhouse gas inventory and third-party verification for many years, and has established a reliable carbon emission management system. CommonWealth Magazine pointed out that there are a total of 681 manufacturing companies included in the evaluation, and only 161 companies meet the 1.5°C standard. Hongyuan is among them, which is not only an affirmation of green manufacturing achievements, but also shows its corporate positioning as a pioneer in climate action.
Looking ahead, Evergrande will continue to deepen its "Innovation × Sustainability" dual-axis strategy, enhance product added value and international competitiveness, strengthen its efforts in the ESG and net zero fields, and work with global customers and suppliers to create a low-carbon future and realize its corporate vision of "contributing to society and transforming the world through innovation and sustainability."
