With an ethical approach to high fashion, the London firm experiments with different artistic styles to give life to its new sustainable collection through pieces to dream of a new world.

The firm A.W.A.K.E Mode created by London-based designer Natalia Alaverdian, aims to produce unique pieces that blend fashion, art, sophistication, and comfort to suit a woman's everyday life. Each collection is inspired by characters from history, art, and film, particularly in Japanese culture. The latest collection reflects Natalia's personal and distinctive approach in each of her creations, which will be progressively released for sale each week. Shirts, coats, bags, and dresses are part of avant-garde but versatile wardrobe, recognizable by their innovative cuts, unexpected details, lightness, and subtle cross-cultural and historical references. The AW21-22 collection relies more than ever on the brand's motto 'All Wonderful Adventures Kindle Enthusiasm' in order to change the rules of the game. Ready-to-wear garments that combine with each other to compose the mantra that reminds us that barriers such as gender, temporality, or the difference between day and night, are becoming less common every day when it comes to fashion.

Each design is carefully crafted with materials, colors, pleats, and stitching lines through a color palette inspired by nature such as red, pink, yellow, burnt orange, or beige brown. Moreover, as we have already seen in other collections, Alaverdian reintroduces an elegant ingenuity in the bags by proposing structured, light quilted, versatile, and sculptural versions in the purest minimalist style. There are also unexpected details such as oversized polka dots, transparencies, and exaggerated openings that give an ingeniously deconstructed impression on dresses or skirts.   How A.W.A.K.E MODE Upholds Sustainability Values In addition, A.W.A.K.E MODE appreciates values, and respects sustainability above all else. Exotic furs, angora down, or feathers have never been used in their proposals and, for their quality and longevity properties, they prefer to work with materials such as cotton, wool, and vegan synthetic leather thanks to their eco-friendly supplier 'Coronet'. Even vegan leather is present in most of the bags and numerous garments. Moreover, in an effort to reduce fabric waste, textiles from previous collections are reused and they always keep the packaging to a minimum. In its collections, the brand opts for materials like certified GOTS organic cotton, GOTS certified organic linen, TENCEL™, and Recycled polyester.

With high-end fashion labels like Gucci, Burberry, and Ralph Lauren declaring to ditch fur, this is sure to send ripples throughout the entire fashion industry. New innovations of vegan leather are constantly being released, with many options to choose from for designers. Plant-based or “vegan” leather is defined by PETA as a material made from polyurethane, which is a polymer made from plants or fruit waste. Alaverdian's surreal aesthetic translates into pieces with real appeal. This collection was intensely thought out to bring life, color, and art to the street with great beauty, fierceness, and joy. He wants something special, something fun that takes us away from this reality to enter a new world.
