Luxury British fashion house Burberry has joined forces with Vestiaire Collective, a leading luxury pre-loved fashion platform, to launch an innovative circular fashion initiative. This groundbreaking partnership empowers customers to trade their secondhand Burberry outerwear and handbags for a valuable Burberry gift card, fostering the culture of resale and taking a significant step towards reducing garment waste.

Vestiaire Collective provides customers with a competitive price for their pre-loved Burberry items. Upon acceptance of the offer, the item is sent to Vestiaire Collective's headquarters, where it undergoes rigorous authentication and quality control processes. In return, the seller receives a gift card that can be redeemed at any Burberry boutique or on Burberry.com.

A Philanthropic Touch: Burberry's Donation to Smart Works

Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective, highlights the significance of the partnership, emphasizing its role in promoting longevity and advancing circular fashion, in line with Vestiaire Collective's mission to support brands in encouraging resale and responsible consumption.

In addition to this partnership, Burberry has generously donated a selection of women’s Heritage Trench Coats to the Vestiaire Collective platform. The proceeds from these donations will be directed to Smart Works, a UK-based charity that assists unemployed women by providing interview clothing and coaching.

A Decade of Support and Circular Progress

Over the past decade, Burberry has steadfastly supported Smart Works in its mission to help women succeed as they enter the workforce. The Burberry x Vestiaire Collective initiative is currently available in the UK and US, marking a significant milestone in the brand's ReBurberry program. This program is designed to encourage circularity among its customers and extend the lifespan of Burberry's products and materials.

This collaborative effort between Burberry and Vestiaire Collective not only embodies a shared commitment to sustainability but also paves the way for more responsible and eco-conscious choices in the fashion industry. By promoting the resale of high-quality fashion items, this partnership sets an example for other luxury brands, encouraging them to embrace circular fashion practices and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future.
