Collina Strada, the young New York label with a punk aesthetic and eco-friendly values, prioritizes sustainable fabrics and has a partnership with a Ghana-based textile waste nonprofit called OR Foundation to repurpose materials.

Hillary Taymour is the founder of Collina Strada, a New York fashion house dedicated to working with the most sustainable materials possible in her own designs and with an eye on future collaborations.

Collina Strada reinterpreted the look of the 2000s with its fall 2022 collection this year in a digital presentation that invited the fashion world to relive the styling of those years. Collina's designs embody humor and youth through unconventional pieces. This is the main factor behind its collaboration with one of our favorite sneaker brands: Reebok.

Taymour founded it when she was a fashion student in 2009, a year when terms like "sustainability" or "inventory" would have led to a brand being labeled niche rather than seen as an industry pioneer.

Collina Strada is now much more of the latter: it produces in small batches in New York, prioritizes more sustainable fabrics, and has a partnership with a Ghana-based textile waste nonprofit called the OR Foundation to repurpose materials. Its recycled materials are certified by the Global Recycle Standard.

A Brand committed to Veganism and Sustainability

Collina Strada is an American women's fashion brand founded by Hillary Taymour in California in 1987 and then in New York in 2008. The firm is based on the reinvention of classics through craftsmanship.

The brand is strongly committed to veganism and sustainability, creating products that do not pollute the planet. It recycles and reuses garments and objects from the garbage in order to raise awareness of the seriousness of the ecological situation. It manufactures its products locally to reduce its carbon footprint.

Fall Winter 2022 Collection

Collina Strada's latest collection is bold, bright, and contemporary. At the New York Fashion Show, it featured brightly colored dresses, skirts, and pants made from rose silk, scrap fabrics, and recycled cotton: everything is flattering and mixes and matches. Dresses are paired with oversized pants, quirky prints meet frilly patterns. Everything seems to go and work.

For Collina Strada, fashion is a means to foster social and climate awareness, self-reflection, and expression. The paradigm that fashion is for everyone is reflected in the diversity of models. Models of all shapes, backgrounds, and ages float down the runway, conveying wholeness, inclusiveness, joy, and zest for life.

This message was also conveyed in its collaboration with the global sneaker brand Reebok, in which the main protagonists of this crossover were the most famous silhouettes of Reebok: Classic Leather and Classic Leather Legacy, where the characteristic touch of Taymour could be seen in the tye dye style stripes that appear on the front and back of the silhouette.
