Drawing its inspiration from nature, luxury skincare and home care scent retailer Crabtree & Evelyn is regarded as one of the longest standing pillars of natural, organic beauty.

Having coined the term “affordable luxury”, Crabtree & Evelyn is an online-only retailer of luxury body, fragrance and home care products. Crabtree & Evelyn began as a small family business and has grown into one of today's most prestigious cosmetics brands. However, their focus hasn't changed one iota, turning everyday beauty routines into highly rewarding experiences. In today's post, we're going to talk a bit about the history of the company and show you some of its best beauty products. Crabtree & Evelyn was founded in 1972 by Cyrus Harvey, who was inspired by the wild apple tree known as Crabtree and botanist John Evelyn to name his brand. The tree is very popular for its beneficial properties for health and skin and is used in many home remedies. John Evelyn was one of the first naturalists and conservationists, whose motto "Explore all, preserve the best" has been adopted by the brand from its inception to the present day. Cyrus Harvey loved to travel the world and was always very interested in natural beauty products, which laid the foundations for an international brand that stands out for its fragrances, body care products and other beauty-related items. Early customers were delighted with the exotic products Harvey provided, as he had collected the best soaps and scents from the places he had visited. Today, Crabtree & Evelyn is present in more than 65 countries, with more than 200 exclusive Crabtree & Evelyn shops. Due to its success, the company began to market other beauty products such as bath gels, floral waters or colognes for men. As they used natural ingredients, the next step was to produce biscuits, preserves and teas, which turned this brand into a benchmark for gourmet cooking products.   Pioneers in Organic Cosmetics Many years before the environmental sustainability and natural products movements became popular, Crabtree & Evelyn was making its cosmetics with extracts of floral and fruit essences. Today, the company continues to work along these lines, combining the experience accumulated over the years with the most modern advances and discoveries. The first product launched by Crabtree & Evelyn was Meal Soaps, which have evolved into the Heritage soaps you can find today. These were soaps with a conditioning effect, characterized by their high lather level and unique fragrances such as wild apple, seaweed or dead sea mud.

Environmentally conscious, Crabtree & Evelyn sources PET plastic for the majority of its product packaging. Its boxes are 100% recyclable and made of 80% recycled material. 70% of which is post-consumer recycled material. The brand enforces the use of sustainable inks used for its printing and is free of heavy metals. In addition, its manufacturing practices efficient energy use and makes efforts to reduce pollution emissions. For its tissue paper, 70% of its content is made from recycled post-industrial materials that are 100% recyclable, and its label paper is Forest Stewardship Council certification (FSC) certified, including 100% recyclable inks. Crabtree & Evelyn draws inspiration from nature to create products that make a difference. A good example of this is the Floral or Cotton Soap Bars, with elegant fragrances that pamper the most delicate skins. Also, the Orange and Eucalyptus Bath Gel, is refreshing and recommended for daily use. If you are looking for an original gift, take a look at this Rose Water scented paper, with a very attractive design and an irresistible aroma.
