OAOA is short for Over And Over Again, which describes the working process of creation. The studio offers pieces in soft pastel colors and represent a nostalgic style.

What profession would you take on if you weren’t a designer? At the moment, I can’t think of myself doing anything else but since I have a strong interest in nature, I assume I would be a gardener or biologist of some sort. Nature is one of my biggest inspirations. What made you decide you wanted to be a designer? For me it feels as though it wasn’t a decision but more like an impulse or knowledge that that’s what I’m going to be. I never wanted to be anything else. I remember the exact moment at the age of 10 that it suddenly clicked and I ran to the kitchen to announce it to my mom. What do you love most about fashion? When I design clothes I am thinking about how I want to feel in the clothes. Clothes influence the state of mind you are in. The link between what you wear and how you feel is so strong and it fascinates me. I aim to make other women feel good in my clothes as well, and I am the first women I ask for an opinion. I’m always there, so I might as well ask myself!Who is your style icon?My style icon is Ana Karina, the French actress whom I adore. Besides the fact that she is an amazing actress, her style and attitude really inspire me. I recently watched again “A Woman Is A Woman” by Jean Luc Godard, which I highly recommend if you like French film and the 60’s!What’s the most inspiring place for you?The beach. I live in Tel Aviv and my home is just a 5 minute walk distance from it. I try to finish every day there to clear my head and relax.Do you have a specific research process when you start designing new pieces?I work in a very intuitive manor when I start a new collection. First, I walk around with a camera and look for interesting details around me. And then I sit in the Tel Aviv Museum of Contemporary Art and flip through some books until something clicks. And then I sketch. What’s on the radio when you’re working?I listen to the local radio stations usually – not because I necessarily like everything they play but because I like the randomness and that someone else is choosing for me. And sometimes if a rare song I like is on, it feels really special. What has been the highlight moment of your career so far?Last summer I collaborated with a young photographer named Naama Alex Levy. We made an editorial together called “Girl with Book.” The pictures turned out amazing and it got published in Coco Indie Magazine and a few more blogs. That was very exciting for me and for OAOA!Where and how do you source your textiles? My studio is located next to a street filled with fabric shops. I know all the shops and am friendly with all of the sellers. It’s a local friendly experience for me, stress free and fun. What are the main textiles you use to make your products?I love working with natural materials such as cotton, viscose (ryon, tencel) and silk. Why did you choose Viscose to make these products? The summer in Israel demands light and breathable fabrics and that’s why I use a lot of viscose.OAOA Studio is available on http://modalyst.co/
