Supported by Kering, the Circular Hub aims to have a positive impact on the luxury fashion industry across the board, from shared research to innovation in local industrial facilities.

Gucci has announced the launch of a circular luxury hub in Italy that will aim to drive the adoption of circular operations across the region's fashion industry.

Titled "Circular Hub" and supported by the brand's parent company Kering, the open platform aims to contribute to the transformation of the entire value chain, from raw materials to logistics, by supporting the circular creation of luxury products. Its procedure aligns with Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Gucci said, a strategy linked to the EU's 2030 emission reduction targets.

Located in Tuscany, the hub will involve several Kering facilities, starting with Gucci's product centers and its raw material suppliers based in Italy, eventually extending to other group brands and, later, the entire sector. The operation's initiatives will include the creation of a research and development center, support for circular logistics methods, and collaborative industry partnerships.

Ultimately, the Circular Hub aims to have a positive impact on the luxury fashion industry across the board, from shared research to innovation in local industrial facilities. Gucci said in a statement that it hopes to contribute to minimizing the environmental and social impact of Italian manufacturing and raw material supply chains through economies of scale and purpose.

In addition, Gucci works closely with its suppliers to ensure traceable and sustainable material sourcing. Its factories carry LEED certification for its workplace ethics as well as having attained ISO45001 certification regarding their environmental footprint in terms of more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
