Quality, Transparency, and Implementation

About ITJV Têxteis The first lines of ITJV Têxteis’ history were traced in 1996 when meeting the needs of the textile sector at the time, they started selling circular knits. Their yarns quickly extended to an increasing number of new customers, solidifying in a market in constant change and to which ITJV Têxteis made a point of continuing to respond.  In 2000, they raised the bar with the implementation of their own production, and the last few decades have been marked by innovation and continuous evolution. With a technologically advanced, powerful, and diverse machine park, ITJV Têxteis’ mesh production capacity is high and efficient, thought of, designed to be modern, functional, and ecological. The guiding thread that governs ITJV Têxteis’ entire work process are the most demanding standards of quality and reliability, whether in terms of raw materials or their network of highly qualified partners.

For ITJV, every detail counts, every yarn counts - only then they can create premium stitches. Today, there are several points that connect them to their essence: knowledge, quality, experience, sustainability, transparency, and competitiveness. When they join the dots, these help them to draw straight lines, to undo themselves, to take the necessary turns, always towards excellence in the textile industry - they are ITJV Têxteis’ direct link to the future of textiles in Portugal and in the world. One thread at a time. Certifications  A certified company is a company that has learned from its past, which has its feet firmly in the present and its eyes set on the future. It is a company whose day-to-day life is dedicated to quality, transparency, and implementation.  Holder of the OEKO-TEX CLASS I, GRS, SUPIMA, and LENZING certifications, ITJV Têxteis' objective remains just one: to do more and better, always. Oeko-Tex Class I ITJV Têxteis is Oeko-Tex Class I certified. Having such a label ensures that the fabric has been tested for harmful substances and that the article, therefore, is harmless in human ecological terms. The test is conducted by independent OEKO-TEX® partner institutes based on a list of set criteria. These are updated at least once a year going beyond national and international requirements.  Global Organic Textile Standard ITJV Têxteis is also GOTS-certified (Global Organic Textile Standard), which is a standard for organic fiber production based on ecological, social, and technical quality and human toxicity criteria combined with independent certification of the entire textile supply chain including fabrics sourcing. The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, trading, and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibers. LENZING™ Derived from nature, all LENZING™ standard Lyocell and Modal fiber types have been certified as compostable and biodegradable under industrial, home, soil and marine conditions, thus they can fully revert back to nature. LENZING™ Lyocell fibers are versatile and distinguished by their high tenacity profile among cellulose fibers. The high strength of LENZING™ Lyocell fibers allows for the lower specific use of the material as compared to cotton. The LENZING™ Lyocell and Modal cellulosic fibers are of botanic origin through environmentally responsible processes from the sustainably sourced natural raw material wood. Wood pulp from the forest is transformed into biobased LENZING™ Lyocell and Modal fibers which are used in a diverse range of industrial applications and consumer products.

Supima Cotton ITJV Têxteis is a Supima Licensee since 2017, making it the “oldest” licensee among the active Supima members. Supima cotton represents less than 1% of cotton grown in the world. What makes Supima unique to other kinds of cotton is the extra-long staple fiber that gives the cotton its premium properties: Strength, Softness, and Color retention. Supima cotton is farmed using state-of-the-art technology and processes. From GPS navigation used on tractors to plant and harvest the cotton to satellite technology and soil monitors, Supima farmers ensure they are growing the best quality cotton in the world with as little impact on the environment as possible. Not all types of cotton are equal. Supima and regular cotton are in fact two different and distinct species of cotton. The most common type of cotton grown around the world typically has a fiber length of only about 1 inch, whereas Supima cotton’s fiber averages 1.5 inches. Shorter fibers produce yarns that are rougher and subject to pilling on the surface of the product, while longer fibers contribute to the strength and softness of apparel and home products, ensuring that they are more comfortable, retain color longer and resist pilling over time. You can treat Supima in the same way you care for your regular cotton items.  The more you wash and wear it, the more you will experience the Supima difference. The softness of Supima is enhanced through use and wear, and together with the durability and lasting color, Supima® products stand out among the other items in the closet. ITJV Products The yarns that ITJV Têxteis knits are those that connect them to their customers and their market, they are yarns that do not break: they are reliable, long-lasting, sustainable, exclusive, and innovative. They stand out for their colors and textures, for their versatility and personalization, and for their quality and impact.  At ITJV,  it is not just a matter of meeting the needs of the market, it is a point of honor - ITJV works only with the best fibers, be it Cotton ( SUPIMA ), Merino Wool, Lyocell (Tencel ), Viscose, Polyester, Silk, Linen, Bamboo, Hemp, Cupro, Seacell or PCM materials, among others, because this is the only way they can produce the best textile compositions and the best knits, such as Jersey, Pike, Jacquard, Fleece, Italian Point, American Point, and other structures.  Everything ITJV Têxteis creates, they create it with the life cycle in mind, knitting other stories, bringing new life to other sectors, brands, and end consumers. Launched in the world, they are textiles that continue to establish lines and connections, to stretch, to solidify, and to reach further and further.

ITJV & Sustainability  The future of textiles looks green and at the top of its lungs. Sustainability has ceased to be an occasion word to become a slogan. ITJV Têxteis says no to waste, chemicals, excesses, pollution; and it says yes to recycling, transformation, reuse, transparency, natural processes, and biodegradability.
