London Collections: Men (LCM) is renowned for experimental runway shows, designs and fabrics. From forward-thinking suits to eclectic streetwear, the Brits know how to mix up the best of their Savile Row tailors with the city's east London's grunge vibe. A look at the top materials featured from the menswear shows of LCM AW15.

The baby of all the men's fashion weeks, LCM is by no means the runt of the show pack - setting global trends in regards to looks, colors and materials season after season. In conjunction with the British Fashion Council, LCM is in top condition this AW15 and continues to launch the careers of innovative young designers from the English capital. Here are the shows that resonated for their exquisite use of fabric and materials for AW15. 1.     Burberry Prorsum Christopher Bailey’s Burberry offering honored slim-tailored silhouettes with an evolving use of colour. Graphics mixed with luxurious skins - adopting ethnic patterns and paisley prints in a nod to hippy days. Shaved furs and plush fabrics met with embroidered textiles from around the world as clothes walk in a lounge-y aesthetic while exuding luxury feels. Rounded lines and oversized coats were topped by soft textures and structured leathers and shearling, keeping the Boho mood rather contemporary. Key materials and prints: Fur / Shearling / Suede / Leather / Crochet / Bonded cotton / Wool blends / Corduroy / Cotton shirting / Indian embroidery/ Tartan / Camouflage / Leopard skin/ Florals / Paisley / Fringing. 2. Craig Green Combative Romanticism was the theme at Craig Green, as he sent down the runway of mix of clerical and military looks. In keeping with the Craig Green monk style it was a more commercial approach to AW15. The customer-appropriate collection was stripped back compared to last season, despite keeping with his love of multi-straps, self-belts, lacing, wrapping and subtle padding - meeting with fluid shapes and conflicting proportions. Colors wore bold (think red and electric blue) and fabrics were lush and warranted touch. Key materials and prints: Cotton drill / Canvas / Bonded wool / Lambs wool / Technical nylon / Jersey / Coated cotton. Materials in this article

3. E. Tautz Head designer, Patrick Grant, created a 1940s theme at the E. Tautz autumn/winter 2015 show.  Traditional tailoring battled on against military silhouettes - the muted palette of the collection trending toward all types of grey and white. The runway showcased suit pieces timeless and built to last in the look; while off-duty outfits featured hand-knitted sweaters and work shirts, offered home-made feel to the collection. Lastly, vintage-inspired heavy-duty coats met with wide-leg trousers in voluminous proportions, while blazers stayed classic in construction size. The majority of materials used were flannel and tweed, adding to the Johnny Depp 'Public Enemies' feel of the collection. Key fabrics and prints: Wool blends / Cashmere / Tweed / Shetland wool / Lambswool / Chambray / Cotton flannel / Cotton twill / Cork. Materials in this article

  1. Casely-Hayford The father-son design duo, Casely-Hayford, experimented with fabrics, details and layering. Dandy-inspired brocades, workman materials and military elements featured with fleece sweats inspired by Coogi knitwear. Formalwear came in the way of blazers and classic coats, while casual wintry looks were all about graphic knits and stripes. A sombre color palette boasted navy and military green hues - dark contrast against orange and fuchsia neons. Key materials and patterns: Wool / Jersey / Leather / Fleece / Nylon / Suede / Paneling/ Bold stripes / Navajo prints / Plaid / Paint brush stroke.{{products=5492,4830,7469}}{{products=9182,3320,9766}} 5. Margaret Howell Softly tailored pinstripe suits stormed the runway with cable-detailed knitwear at Margaret Howell. Cleansing the palette, the tailored and casual looks boasted silhouettes that balanced the fitted and relaxed. The boilersuit made an appearance again in classic black, while cropped tapered or wide-leg trousers proved just as timeless. Fine-gauge polo-neck sweaters and double-breasted shearling coats rounded out the toned-down military aesthetic that Howell established as a go-to look in previous years. Key materials and patterns: Argyle / Wool blends / Linen / Lambswool / Harris Tweed / Bonded wool / Cotton twill / Canvas / Corduroy. 6. J.W. Anderson The mixed-decade collection from J.W. Anderson proved why the UK designer was named Menswear Designer of Year in 2014 at the British Fashion Awards. Inspired by theater's Rudolf Nureyev, the strong elegance of the collection portrayed an array of clothes from the 90s (style bootcut pants with slits down the sides) to the 60s (leather jackets boasting patchwork). The 70s vintage color palette was dominated by warm browns as oversized collars and sleeves sat plump, adorned in buttons made from metalwork into flower motifs. The collection also offered suede and leather jackets, finishing with a statement plush fabric winter coat in golden, honey brown. Key materials and patterns: Gradated stripes / Leather / Suede / Pony skin / Shaved fur / Shearling / Velvet / Wool / Cotton shirting / Tassels. Materials in this article
