Primark is an international retailer offering the latest in good quality fashion, beauty and homewares at affordable prices, or in other words: amazing style at amazing prices.

Primark opened its first store, Penneys, in 1969 in Dublin and today has over 390 stores in thirteen countries in Europe and America, including Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, France, USA, Italy, Slovenia and Poland. We have a large team of over 65,000 people and in the last fiscal year (FY19/20) has opened 12 new stores and created over 2,800 new jobs.

It may be a retailer on a global scale, but Primark manages its processes differently from other companies. It only sells its products in-store and doesn’t incur any costs associated with online sales or delivery networks. It doesn't use expensive hangers, posters or labels. In this way, it can offer its customers excellent products at reduced prices, without neglecting certain key aspects of the production process.

The company has been working for many years to ensure that our products are manufactured with respect to the environment and workers’ rights and working conditions in supplier factories. Primark's Environmental Sustainability Team, comprising over 110 specialists working in our main sourcing countries.

It oversees the entire production process of our garments, from the selection of raw materials like cotton to the environmental impact of factory production processes and compliance with the standards required of our suppliers. New Commitment to Sustainability

Primark’s “Mom” jeans, made from 100% cotton, have achieved Cradle to Cradle® (C2C) Gold certification. This certification standard provides consumers with the assurance of knowing that products carrying this certification come from a responsible source. This guarantee is present in Primark's new line. The jeans are fully recyclable and very affordably priced, making them the perfect closet staple.

This launch forms part of the Primark Cares collection. Under the Primark Cares label, jeans made from cotton grown by farmers from the Primark Sustainable Cotton Program are produced, as well as other products made from recycled materials in the different departments: men's, women's, children's and home; such as swimwear, sportswear, shoes, pyjamas, underwear, denim or bed linen.

All this is part of the path that Primark has taken to go one step further towards a more sustainable future, always offering the best possible prices. Primark was founded on the idea that fashion should be affordable for everyone. Therefore, it believes that sustainable fashion should not be associated with a high price tag.

To further its commitment to sustainability, Primark also partnered with REPREVE® in 2021 to make its Skinny jeans. REPREVE Our Ocean® is a unique fiber made from recycled plastic bottles. These bottles have been collected along 50km of coastline, one of the biggest sources of pollution in our oceans.
