Certifed PETA and Leaping Bunny, skincare brand Sunday Riley has decided to “give back” to the environment by planting trees to further establish its pledge to greener cosmetics.

American brand Sunday Riley makes luxury skincare products that produce positive and noticeable results in the skin as well as advocating for sustainability. With its research-backed by botanical formulations, the brand also champions human rights as it strictly works exclusively with suppliers that agree to its Supplier Code of Conduct. Since the skincare brand’s launch in 2009, not testing on animals was always Sunday Riley’s top priority; to this day, it’s one of the cosmetics firm's core values. An American brand, it’s completely cruelty-free as it’s approved by PETA as well as Leaping Bunny. They have a wide range of vegan skincare products, with critical active ingredients backed by scientific research. When the brand took off, sustainable skincare was just scraping the surface.

Named after the founder, Sunday wanted to make sustainability a key focus of the brand’s business model from the beginning. Sunday Riley is built on active ingredients that are kind to the environment as well as the customer’s skin. As an advocate for human rights herself, Sunday built a female-owned brand, encompassing values that are felt in the functioning of every aspect of the company. Using its business as a force for good, the brand has also switched to Forest Stewardship Council-approved inks and materials for its packaging. Also certified by My Green Lab, Sunday Riley works with the gold standard organization in order to ensure the best sustainability practices. Under its program My Green Lab supports laboratories for teams and scientists to employ the safest and cleanest methods possible, also providing them with funding and resources. Sunday Riley has implemented initiatives as a way to “give back” to the environment. One of which is here it has matching employee and customer donations set up to protect the Amazon rainforest, the firefighters that saved the 2019 Australian bushfires, and even hosting a 5k run to raise $30,000 to go towards beauty professionals who were financially impacted by the covid pandemic.

“One Tree Planted” After an arduous two years, Sunday Riley is proud to be a certified B Corporation brand for its firm commitment to meeting the highest standards of social and environmental responsibility, as well as disclosing information regarding its manufacturing processes. Using its business as a force for good, the brand has also switched to Forest Stewardship Council-approved inks and materials for its packaging. It was a crucial milestone for the brand in terms of demonstrating its alignment with B Corporation’s values of corporate responsibility and brand ethics. To celebrate, Sunday Riley teamed up with One Tree Planted to plant 50 trees a month locally, as well as donating to help plant millions of trees across Australia to recover forests that were destroyed by the 2019-20 Black Summer Bushfires.
